Children's Bible Stories
I have been meeting with a lady who is Cambodian and a missionary on our team once a week. This week I met with her yesterday she brought a children's Bible Story Book. I read my first Children's Bible story in Khmer. It was about Adam and Eve disobeying God. There were some words in the story that I did not know, but it was nice to already know the story because it made it easier to read and understand. I thank God for the opportunity to study His Word in Khmer even if for right now it is only in summarized Children's stories.

I have my own handy dandy Macedonian children's Bible. It is nice to know the stories already, it does help. I enjoy using it as part of my language study. It helps me pick out some words I sing in songs or hear at church.
How is everything going?
Other ways to help familiarize yourself with Kmni:
1) Children's comic books;
2) A national weekly news magazine (like an analog of some publication Time, Newsweek) in the local language where YOU understand the English version of whatever story you're reading (from newspapers, magazines, TV, Internet). If you do this continuously, you should pick up all types of vocabulary, bit by bit.;
3) A "pictionary," provided a Cambodian/Khmi version even exists.
It has been my experience that the process takes about a year, and I have learned three foreign languages in-depth. Happy studying!
